What is new energy? New energy refers to energy that has been developed but not yet widely used compared to traditional energy sources such as coal, oil, and natural gas, including solar energy, wind energy, hydro energy, nuclear energy, bioenergy, etc.

 

Why is new energy needed? Population growth leads to increased energy demand, traditional energy is limited (non renewable), environmental protection and climate change mitigation, technological innovation, etc. These are all reasons for the development of new energy.

 

The difference between new energy and traditional energy is that new energy usually refers to renewable and clean energy sources such as solar and wind energy, which is different from traditional fossil fuel energy that relies on limited natural resources and generates environmental pollution.

 

Solar energy, a renewable energy source that obtains energy from the radiation of the sun, converts sunlight into electrical or thermal energy through solar panels.

 

Wind energy is a renewable energy source that converts the kinetic energy of wind into electrical energy by driving wind turbines with wind power. It is divided into onshore wind power and offshore wind power.

 

Water energy generates electricity by utilizing the kinetic energy of water flow, including hydroelectric power, tidal energy, and wave energy.

Nuclear energy is a clean energy source that uses nuclear reactions (nuclear fission) to generate a large amount of heat energy, which is then converted into electricity.

 

Bioenergy is a way of extracting energy from organisms themselves, which can be through direct combustion, biological fermentation (converting into liquid fuel), biological decomposition (producing gaseous fuel), and other methods.

 

Geothermal energy utilizes the heat energy within the Earth's interior to generate thermal or electrical energy, which is typically more readily available in hotspots on the Earth's surface, such as volcanoes and hot spring areas.

 

Hydrogen energy refers to the production of hydrogen gas through water electrolysis or other methods, which is then used as an energy source.

 

Ocean temperature difference energy uses the temperature difference between surface water and deep water in the ocean to generate electricity (electrons move from the hot end to the cold end, thus generating current), and this technology is usually more effective in tropical waters.
